30 researchers, 13 disciplines

Between the three studies, two NCCU faculty members are principal investigators, and thirty undergraduate students have served as research partners so far. We represent thirteen different disciplines, and our ages span from early 20s to 60 years old.

2018+ Learning from Adult Learners study

200+ NCCU students and alumni participated in focus groups, a survey, and interviews to help us understand why older students leave and return to college, and what makes it possible to continue. 

2019+ Literate Lives of Adult HBCU Students study

30 current students (undergraduates age 25+ and graduate students 30+) participated to help us learn about relationships between adults’ writing experiences outside and inside of college.
